Robert Grevious is the founder of Precision Personal Training, an amateur bodybuilder (taking fourth in the Northern Colorado Bodybuilding and Figure Championships in 2004), an advocate for autism spectrum disorder and now he is the newest ambassador for Empower 2 Play. As Coach AK and the team embark on its next chapter in Cité Soleil, Haiti, Robert will be among them. He hopes to bring his own unique mentoring and motivating skills, honed from working with a broad range of clients and his experience in working with children to support the sports diplomacy mission:
To foster cross-cultural communication and identify, connect and develop next generational youth through the power of sports.
Robert got into fitness as a teenager, at the age of 16. When he began, Robert primarily focused on personal fitness, pushing his body to its limits and competing in amateur bodybuilding contests. In 2011, Robert founded Precision Personal Training LLC and channeled his passion towards helping other achieve their personal fitness goals. One thing that made Robert stand out among the other trainers was his willingness to work with the individual needs of his clients, to reach their goals the way they wanted.
In addition to working one-on-one with clients, Robert also has experience with nutrition planning and managing boot camps, sometimes abroad. He hopes that his international experience will come in handy in Cite Soleil.
Outside of his fitness career, Robert is a strong advocate for autism and special needs children. His seven-year-old son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. To raise awareness, Robert created a GoFundMe which has raised close to $2,500 so far. Over the Fourth of July weekend, Robert attempted to climb six 14ers – a mountain peak with the elevation over 14,000 feet. Alongside his physical climbing goal, Robert wanted to raise $1,000 for each mountain he climbed. Though he didn’t reach that goal, Robert was not disappointed by the money he did raise, noting,
The fact that people have helped me this far is amazing and I’m extremely proud of the money we have raised!
Robert hopes to one day climb all 53 of Colorado’s 14ers and continue his advocacy for autism treatment and awareness.
It is a true honor and privilege to have Robert join Empower 2 Play’s team in Haiti. Robert not only brings with him an unparalleled level of professional and passion, but his ability to empathize with others and work with anyone will be an invaluable asset. This is especially important in a country where the culture and environment differ so much from what we are used to. To be able to see problems from the perspective of children and local communities will help make sure the outreach mission contributes in an authentic way, meaningful both to the children and other members of the Cité Soleil community.
